This 4-week online course is designed for first-time Hawaiian language learners and those who want a refresher in basic Hawaiian language. No prior Hawaiian language experience is necessary.
Students will learn new vocabulary words, the Hawaiian alphabet, syllabary, descriptive sentences, locational sentences, ʻaike o, and ʻaike he. Each week, ʻōlelo noʻeau (Hawaiian proverbs) and wahi pana (storied places) are introduced to help students learn Hawaiian culture and worldview.
